CoWL Card: have you got yours?

CoWL Card helps family enjoy memorable trip

We're always delighted to hear how our CoWL Card is making a difference, and one carer recently shared their experience of using the carers card during a trip to Ireland.

The CoWL Carer's Card provides proof of a caring role and can unlock discounts and concessions with participating businesses. For this carer, it also helped make travelling and sightseeing easier and more enjoyable.

They shared:

"My husband and I went to Ireland for a few days. Because I have my Carer's Card, some of the things we did were made so much easier for us, and it meant we could both really enjoy ourselves.

I got in as a free plus one at The Titanic Exhibition in Belfast and two museums in Dublin, and we received assistance with boarding and disembarking from the ferry. We even got a guided tour of cathedral crypts where neither of us had to pay entry.

As Dublin is in the EU, I had thought the card was only valid in the UK, but the welcome we got with it was wonderful and made us feel so included.

I just want everyone to know how glad we are for CoWL support, and for anyone thinking about getting a Carer's Card, it's worth it."

Stories like these remind us that the CoWL Cards can do more than provide discounts. It can help people feel recognised, supported and included when accessing services and opportunities.

Please note: acceptance of the card and any concessions offered beyond our partner discounts are always at the discretion of individual venues and organisations.

Our CoWL cards allow carers and disabled people to make the most of West Lothian businesses with generous discounts while providing proof of your disability or caring role and emergency contact information.
