Message from Neighbourhood Watch Scotland
Dear Carers of West Lothian,
Hello, my name is Keith Jack, one of the engagement officers at Neighbourhood Watch Scotland. You might recognise me as Community Sergeant Jack from Bathgate, I’m recently retired!!
Firstly, let me take a moment to acknowledge the truly incredible work you do. Caring is not just a role—it is an act of compassion, patience, and unwavering dedication. You improve lives in ways that often go unseen but never go unappreciated. The strength, resilience, and kindness you show every day make an immeasurable difference in the lives of those you support.
At Neighbourhood Watch Scotland, we believe in communities looking out for one another. Much like you do in your caring roles, we focus on building a safer, more connected society where people support and protect each other. Our aim is to empower local communities with knowledge, resources, and practical ways to improve safety and well-being.
We work with residents, local organisations, and the police to help people feel secure in their homes and communities. Whether it’s providing crime prevention advice, sharing local updates, or encouraging neighbours to be more engaged with one another, our mission is rooted in trust and togetherness.
As carers, you understand more than most the importance of safety and security. You bring comfort, stability, and support to those who need it most, often without recognition or reward. We want you to know that we see and appreciate you. You embody the very values that Neighbourhood Watch Scotland holds dear—community, care, and connection.
I was lucky enough to meet Ann Pike (Chair, CoWL) recently, who has agreed to share our messages with you. As such you will hear more from me in the coming months about who we are, what we do and provide you with opportunities to get involved should you wish. Whether you choose to get involved or not our connection is a positive thing.
