Young Carer Ambassador Project

Thanks to funding from The National Lottery Community Fund Scotland, we are excited to launch our Young Carer Ambassador Project across secondary schools in West Lothian. Our Young Carer Ambassadors play a vital role in raising awareness of young carers, promoting understanding of their needs, and representing young carers within their school. Each ambassador’s role will look slightly different depending on their school, and over the coming years they’ll take part in training sessions, deliver assemblies, visit the Scottish Parliament on Young Carers Action Day, and get involved in local participation work with the Children’s Rights Network.

We are already seeing the impact of this project. This week, two newly appointed Ambassadors delivered three school assemblies, confidently raising awareness and sharing information about the support available to young carers. Their passion, professionalism, and commitment were truly inspiring, and we couldn’t be more proud of them.

A huge thank you to all our Young Carer Ambassadors, your voices are powerful, your leadership is inspiring, and you’re helping make a real difference for young carers across West Lothian.
