Volunteer Week 2025
As we mark Volunteer Week 2025, we want to take this special opportunity to shine a spotlight on the incredible individuals who give their time, energy, and hearts to support our mission. Our volunteers are the beating heart of our organisation, and their contributions make a profound and lasting difference in the lives of unpaid carers and disabled people across our community.

We have 43 volunteers, and each one brings something unique to our team. They come from all walks of life, with diverse backgrounds, experiences, and passions. Some offer their time facilitating peer support groups, creating safe and welcoming spaces for people to connect and share. Others help maintain our garden, turning it into welcoming space for all who use our building. We have a volunteer who offers reflexology helping to ease stress and promote relaxation. Some provide counselling, offering a listening ear and emotional support to those who need it most. Others help at information stands, spreading awareness and connecting people with vital resources. And let’s not forget our dedicated volunteer drivers, who ensure that young carers get to their groups safely and reliably.
We are also incredibly fortunate to have the support of our Trustees, Ambassador, and Patrons, who generously volunteer their time and expertise. Their guidance and leadership help us stay focused on our mission and ensure we continue to grow and evolve in meaningful ways.
Over the past year alone, our volunteers have given an astounding 2,400 hours of their time. That’s 2,400 hours of stewardship, listening, supporting, driving, planting, sharing, and caring. These acts of kindness ripple outward, creating a stronger, more connected, and more compassionate community.

But volunteering is about more than just giving—it’s also about connection. Many of our volunteers speak of the deep friendships they’ve formed, the sense of purpose they’ve discovered, and the joy of being part of a supportive, inclusive community. Volunteering offers a chance to grow, to learn, and to be part of something bigger than oneself.
To every single one of our volunteers: thank you. Your generosity, compassion, and commitment inspire us every day. You are the heart of what we do, and we simply couldn’t do it without you.
If you’ve ever thought about volunteering, there’s no better time to get involved. Whether you have a few hours a week or just want to help occasionally, your time and talents can make a real difference.
