Saturday 21st June 2025 from 2pm to 6pm at West Lothian College. 〰️
At the heart of this festival is a celebration of diversity in West Lothian—a region rich in culture, creativity, and compassion. Theiya Arts, a local organisation dedicated to promoting South Asian dance and culture, is curating a stunning programme of workshops and performances in the college’s Main Hall. From Bollywood beats to the elegance of Kathak and the rhythmic power of Kandyan dance, the afternoon will be filled with movement, music, and joy.
Here’s what’s in store:
2:00–3:00pm: Bollywood Dance Workshop
3:00–4:00pm: Kathak Workshop (North Indian classical dance)
4:00–4:45pm: Kandyan Dance Workshop (Sri Lankan classical dance)
5:00–6:00pm: South Asian Dance Showcase featuring Theiya’s students and professional dancers
All workshops are free to attend, but spaces are limited—so be sure to book in advance by emailing hello@theiya.org.
We are especially proud that Theiya Arts is recognising the invaluable contribution of unpaid carers in our community by offering free places in all workshops to carers. This is a wonderful opportunity for carers to take a well-deserved break, try something new, and connect with others in a joyful and inclusive environment. To reserve your place as a carer, please get in touch directly with Carers of West Lothian.
Outside the Main Hall, the festival continues with a variety of food stalls and information stands from local community organisations. It’s a great chance to explore the rich cultural tapestry of West Lothian, meet new people, and learn more about the support and services available to carers and families.
This event is part of our wider Carers Week celebrations, and we’re delighted to be part of such a meaningful and festive occasion. Whether you’re a carer, a dance enthusiast, or simply looking to enjoy a fun afternoon with family and friends, the West Lothian Multicultural Festival has something for everyone.
Let’s come together to celebrate the strength and diversity of our community—and to honour the incredible carers who make such a difference every day.
We can’t wait to see you there!
