Supporting Carers Through Memory Difficulties & Dementia

Caring for a loved one with memory difficulties or a new dementia diagnosis can be overwhelming, but you’re not alone. We understand the emotional and practical challenges that come with caring, and we’re here to support you throughout your journey.

Local Drop-In Sessions – Connect with Us!

Looking for guidance or just someone to talk to? Our community Drop-In sessions provide a welcoming space where carers can access support, advice, and connection. Join us at a location near you:

📍 East Calder Partnership Centre (library area) – Last Thursday of the month (29th May, 26th June)
📍 Lanthorn Community Complex – 3rd Tuesday of the month (17th June, 15th July)
📍 Bathgate Xcite (reception area) – 2nd Thursday of the month (12th June, 10th July)

These sessions are an opportunity to meet our team and find out about available resources and support.

☕ A New Approach to Our Monthly Support Group

We’re excited to introduce a fresh format for our monthly support group—now held in a café environment in Craigsfarm, Livingston where we have reserved seating for carers and the person they care for.

What to Expect:

  • A relaxed setting where carers can chat with MIST staff and volunteers

  • A chance to connect with other carers navigating similar challenges

  • OPAL activity packs and a friendly ear for your loved one

🗓 First Friday of each month (6th June, 4th July…)
10:30 am – 12:00 noon

If you feel your loved one might enjoy joining, they are welcome to attend. Just get in touch to let us know.

If you’d like to learn more about MIST and the ways we can support you, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Whether it’s through our Drop-In sessions, support groups, or one-to-one guidance, we’re here for you.
