Workshops with the Memory Information Support Team

MIST – Workshops & Activities – commencing Wednesday 17th September (6 week block, once a week)

As part of the MIST project and supporting family members/unpaid carers who care for someone experiencing memory difficulties or those recently diagnosed with a dementia, can often feel uncertain about the future and what it might look like moving into a caring role (even if they don’t feel they are at an earlier stage).

  • What might the future look like?

  • What support is available?

  • What practical aspects should I be considering?

  • Emotionally how do I cope with what lies ahead?

These are just some of the questions we aim to cover with our six weekly workshops and would encourage if you know someone supporting a loved one with memory difficulties or a recent dementia diagnosis these sessions (as well as our monthly ‘Cuppa and Chat’ meets) might be really helpful to not only hear from a variety of services as part of the session but also the chance to speak with others in a similar position, on a similar journey.

Support for the person living with memory difficulties is provided by our MIST partners, Cyrenians OPAL project, running alongside our carer sessions and refreshments will be provided for the workshops too.  If you would rather come on your own, you are also welcome to do so.

Our upcoming MIST workshops will run in-person at Crofthead Farm in Livingston (Chinese Hub) on Wednesday afternoons from 2pm till 3.30pm (spaces are bookable currently) and we aim to run this virtually early 2026 too.

If you are interested in attending or hearing more about upcoming sessions or wider MIST Supports please contact us on 01506 448000, email: support@carers-westlothian.com or send us a WhatsApp: 07719064930
